In a flash of light 4,400 people who had gone missing at some point in the previous 50 years suddenly reappear besides a Seattle Lake with no memory of what has happened to them. Government agents Diana Skouris (Jacqueline McKenzie) and Tom Baldwin (Joel Gretsch) are drafted into a new organization, NTAC, whose sole job is to find out what happened to the “returnees”. Upon investigations, it turns out that the 4400 people are special – they’ve all been returned with a “gift”, a supernatural ability, and a purpose – to save the world. In this first season, Shawn Farrell (Patrick Flueger) discovers that he can heal anyone he touches and Maia Rutledge (Conchita Campbell) discovers that she can see the future, and we also learn of returnees that can revitalize dead flowers, help anyone lose large amounts of weight, and even stop a speeding bullet. Can they use their new found abilities to good use, or will things go wrong when they try?
