The world’s two top secret agents, Gregorio Cortez (Antonio Banderas) and Ingrid Avellan (Carla Guigino), first meet when they are assigned to assassinate each other. Instead, they fall in love, marry in a dramatic ceremony, and retire peacefully to raise a family. Some years later, they live a seemingly normal life, with two children, Carmen (Alexa Vega) and Juni (Daryl Sabara). A desperate situation forces Gregorio and Ingrid out of retirement so they leave the kids in the capable hands of “Uncle” Felix (Cheech Marin). When the Cortez parents are captured and villains invade the house, Felix is forced to reveal their true past to their precocious offspring, Carmen and Juni. The two kids realize that they are their parents’ last hope and set off to rescue them. They reach out to their father’s estranged brother Isidore (Danny Trejo), a gadget–maker par excellance, and head out to the strange island castle of Fegan Floop (Alan Cumming), the reclusive host of a popular children’s show. There they team up to disrupt the evil plans of Alexander Minion (Tony Shalloub) and Mr. Lisp (Robert Patrick) to take over the world with an army of child robots.
