A great New Year’s Eve party is underway on the ‘Poseidon’, a beautiful cruise ship. At midnight with the cries of “Happy New Year”, ringing in everyone’s ears, a huge rogue wave crashes into the ship and rolls it upside down. Nearly everyone is killed in the accident but in the ballroom hundreds have escaped the initial carnage. Realizing that the only way to survive is to get to the surface of the water, a few members set out to get help. As they make their way through falling debris and rising flood water, some of the expedition perishes along the way. Will they make it to safety or perish amongst the sinking ship?
