The Aristocrats is a feature-length documentary about the dirtiest joke ever told. Penn Jillette (of comedy duo Penn and Teller) interviews the great and small of the comedy world, collecting their versions of the classic joke. Passed down from one comedian to another since the days of vaudeville, the joke is as raunchy and disgusting as promised, but the heart of the movie lies in the different interpretations given the material by the different comedians. Well-known figures like George Carlin and Drew Carey figure alongside almost forgotten stars such as Phyllis Diller and Tim Conway. Richard Jeni, Bob Saget and Gilbert Gottfried also take their turn, showing a side of themselves that is unfamiliar to most.
