Dracula 2000 takes the classic horror story Dracula and turns it into a modern teen film. In London a gang of robbers find a huge hoard of treasure in an antique store. Among the items is a sealed coffin, and when they attempt to steal it, a security system activates, killing one of them. Assuming that if the coffin is so well protected it must be valuable, they steal it and put it on a plane to America. The coffin contains the body of Count Dracula (Gerard Butler). The coffin was taken by Dracula’s archenemy Abraham Van Helsing (Christopher Plummer) and hidden in the vault for safekeeping. On the flight Dracula awakens and kills the plane’s pilot, causing the plane to crash in Louisiana. Dracula survives the crash and goes to New Orleans where Van Helsing’s estranged daughter Lucy (Justine Waddell) is living. Will Van Helsing and his apprentice Simon Shepherd (Johnny Lee Miller) be able to stop Dracula?
